Biography

TeYa Noor is a self-taught Egyptian contemporary abstract artist whose practice explores the intersection of geometric abstraction and the essence of landscape. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, she creates minimalist compositions that reduce visual experience to its most fundamental elements—color, proportion, rhythm, and space.

Her work is rooted in the belief that abstraction can communicate what representation cannot. Whether through structured geometric forms or expansive horizontal compositions, TeYa Noor seeks to evoke atmosphere rather than depict place, allowing the familiar to dissolve into emotional perception.

Guided by intuition and a refined sense of balance, she builds each painting through layered acrylic surfaces where every gesture remains visible. Negative space, restrained palettes, and deliberate relationships between form and color become essential components of her visual language.

By removing the unnecessary, TeYa Noor creates paintings that invite contemplation, offering quiet spaces where viewers can slow down, reflect, and discover personal meaning beyond narrative.

Artist Statement

My paintings begin with a process of reduction.

I am interested in the moment when an image no longer describes the world but begins to evoke it. A horizon becomes a sequence of color. A geometric form becomes an emotional gesture. By removing detail, I seek to reveal the quiet relationships between color, rhythm, proportion, and space.

I work with acrylic because it allows me to build each painting through successive layers while preserving the immediacy of every decision. The surface carries the memory of its own making, where intuition and structure exist in constant dialogue.

Although my work moves between geometric abstraction and abstract landscape, I see them as expressions of the same visual language. Both are attempts to distill experience into its essential form—not to represent reality, but to create space for perception, stillness, and emotional resonance.

I believe simplicity is not the absence of complexity but its refinement. Through minimal means, I hope to create paintings that invite quiet attention and remain open to the unique experiences each viewer brings to them.
